Exercises, Stretches & Posture
Ashling may recommend specific exercises or stretches for you to practise at home between treatments.
The videos on this page are simply reminders of the exercises discussed during your appointment. You will only have been advised to do those that are appropriate for your individual condition.
You may also have been given advice about posture, positioning, or daily activities, as these can play an important role in recovery.
This information is intended to support your treatment, not replace professional assessment or care.
General Guidelines
Research suggests that it is often helpful to stretch tight muscles before strengthening weaker ones. Once tight muscles begin to relax, strengthening exercises can become more effective and comfortable.
Most of the exercises shown here are therefore designed to gently stretch muscles that may have become tight or restricted.
Important Safety Advice
-
Stretches should never be painful.
-
Move slowly and gently into each stretch.
-
Do not bounce while stretching.
-
If an exercise worsens your symptoms, stop and contact the clinic if needed.
-
Wear comfortable clothing and ensure you have enough space around you to move safely.
These exercises are intended only for patients of Moore Health Clinic who have been advised to perform them as part of their treatment.
Tip:
Doing your exercises little and often is usually more effective than doing them all at once.
